Lighthouse Thanksgiving Dinner
It’s nearing the time for the Lighthouse Ministries Thanksgiving Dinner. This year, the dinner will again be held at the Sayre School Buttery in downtown Lexington. I’ve spoken with Tay Henderson from Lighthouse Ministries and she informed me that they need some assistance.
They need 150 volunteers to help with the dinner, in order to make things run smoothly. They’re also in need of hams and turkeys, or the funds to purchase them.
If you can volunteer your time, they are asking that each volunteer commit to arriving at 4 p.m. and staying the entire time, until clean-up is completely finished. There is also a mandatory information meeting on Monday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sayre Buttery for all volunteers. The meeting will last no more than 30 minutes and will ensure that everyone is fully informed of their responsibilities and table assignments.
There will be three people assigned to each table, two to serve food and one to serve drinks. Because we need our volunteers for specific duties, we ask that children be at least 11 years old to volunteer with their parents.
Please email Stephanie Grimes at peacefulgirl51@aol.com if you would like to volunteer, have a food or monetary donation, or any questions. As Ms. Henderson stated, “We look forward to serving God’s people once again.”
